The IEP & Outside Agencies

Outside Agencies

As part of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process, schools must obtain consent to invite an outside agency likely to be responsible for providing or paying for transition services. To ensure the correct agency is invited, here are various agencies the team should consider:

The Bureau of Services for Blind Persons (BSBP) believes in the capacity of people who are blind or visually impaired to achieve employment and independence. The BSBP provides training and services that empower people to achieve their individual goals.

Genesee Health Systems provides community living support, respite, and case management support along with mental health services and supported employment.

Michigan Rehabilitation Services provides pre-employment transition services and vocational rehabilitation.

The Disability Network provides the Center for Independent Living for Genesee County.

The Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides an in-school youth partnership with the Genesee Intermediate School District and an adult and dislocated workers program through GST Michigan Works!
